SEREMBAN: Three cases of the Covid-19 Omicron variant have been detected in Negri Sembilan as of Tuesday (Dec 28), all imported cases.
State health, environment, cooperatives and consumerism action committee chairman S. Veerapan said one case involved a 28-year-old woman who arrived from Ireland at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Dec 15.
The patient, who was asymptomatic and fully vaccinated, was screened at KLIA and told to wear a digital surveillance bracelet and undergo home quarantine in Seremban, he said on Wednesday (Dec 29).
He said the second case also involved a 28-year-old woman, who arrived at KLIA from the United Kingdom on Dec 1.
The woman, who was fully vaccinated, had mild symptoms and underwent screening at the airport.
The third patient, 29, tested positive during screening at KLIA on Dec 16 upon her return from the United Kingdom.
She was also fully vaccinated but exhibited mild symptoms, and was instructed to undergo home quarantine in Port Dickson, he added.
Veerapan said the situation was under control and advised the public to comply with standard operating procedures and get their booster shots. – Bernama
