KUALA LUMPUR: Food lovers can now look forward to more than 600 authentic Italian food products as the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) launches Eat Healthy, Taste Italy Fair at Village Grocer Bangsar Village I.

The fair is organised in collaboration with The Food Purveyor (TFP), the premium grocery operator of Village Grocer, Ben’s Independent Grocer (B.I.G.), BSC Fine Foods and Leisure Grocer.

Happening now until March 20, the fair gives shoppers and food lovers to enjoy and discover the Italian culinary culture – a healthy Mediterranean diet quintessential to the Italian lifestyle.

Officiated by Italy ambassador in Malaysia Massimo Rustico, the fair features a wealth of authentic Italian products such as biscuits, coffee, olive oil, chocolate and snacks, truffle, vinegar, pasta, cheese, sauces, condiments, wine and many more.

Rustico said this year, the Italian Trade Agency in partnership with The Food Purveyor, a leading name in quality food retail in Malaysia, celebrated Italian excellence in the world of food and drink.

“We are very proud of this joint project between ITA and The Food Purveyor, under the umbrella of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

“Our objective is to bring a deeper understanding of Italian food and wine, culture, and biodiversity in the Malaysian market for Italy’s exports.

“I am pleased to see so many Italian food products at this fair, which aims to raise awareness about authentic Italian products made in Italy to the people in Malaysia,” he said.

Italian trade commissioner Dr Filippo Fusaro added that this was the most diverse Italian food fair by ITA, bringing a taste of authentic Italy to Malaysians.

“The partnership with the ITA, focuses on the authenticity and unique traits that make our Italian food and wine products stand out.

“That goes for our current selection of over 600 products, plus new ones still to come which will complete the wealth, diversity, and quality of Italian products offered in the country promoting the partnership.

“Italian cuisine is loved by people worldwide not only because of the taste, but also the health benefits. This is because our cuisine encompasses the Mediterranean diet.

“With fresh Italian produce and products available at this fair, Malaysians can learn to cook at home Italian dishes which are simple, tasty, and healthy,” he said.
