AMPANG: A foreigner was accused of groping and molesting a 13-year-old girl in Jalan Kampung Fajar here and slipping her a RM50 note as “compensation.”
Ampang Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident happened around 7am sometime at the end of December last year.
He said the suspect, who was a newspaper seller, had on the day of the incident allegedly visited the teen’s home and entered her bedroom.
“He then groped her, touching her body, arms and hugging her and gave her RM50 in return,” he said in a statement.
However, it is understood that the girl only lodged a police report recently.
The 32-year-old man was arrested yesterday along Jalan Air Jernih, Setapak, to assist the investigation.
“The suspect has been remanded for seven days to facilitate the investigation under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,” he said.
