Tesla supercharger station now open at Pavilion KL with ‘RM4 per minute idle fees’ to prevent hogging

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 ― The first Tesla supercharging station for Malaysia is now open to the public at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

The station, equipped with eight supercharges, aims to facilitate the seamless charging of Tesla vehicles.

It is also integrated into the Tesla mobile app to offer real-time monitoring of charger availability, charging status, payment and technical support.

The fee for the Pavilion KL supercharger is priced at RM1.25 per kWh.

However, there is also an idle fee of up to RM4 per minute.

This means, if you have finished charging and leave your vehicle parked there, you will be charged up to RM4 per minute for hogging the station.

According to Tesla’s website, idle fees apply to any vehicle occupying a supercharger if the station is at 50 per cent capacity or more and the charge session is complete.

Idle fees double when the station is at 100 per cent capacity.

To avoid being charged for hogging the station, users are encouraged to check their Tesla app for notification when charging nears completion.

Supercharger station details, including ideal fees incurred, are available in the app.

The supercharging station is capable of 250kW max power, which means a Model Y vehicle can regain up to 270 kilometres of charge in just 15 minutes.
