PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be announcing the appointment of the new Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) minister soon.
The Prime Minister had urged parties who wish to name a candidate to write an official letter to him.
“InsyaAllah (If God wills it), we would fill in the vacancy (of the KPDN minister) soon.
“If there are suggestions, do write a letter to me as soon as possible,” he said, adding that the newly elected Pulai member of parliament Suhaizan Kayat is not guaranteed the spot.
Anwar was addressing the media after sending over three shipping containers containing 30,000 Al-Quran copies which have been translated to English and Chinese to be delivered to Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom at Kompleks Nasyrul Quran, here, today.
This is part of the effort for Malaysia to deliver one million Al-Quran copies translated to various languages all over the world, especially in the West to counter Islamophobia and misunderstanding of the Al-Quran and Islam following recent incidents of Al-Quran burning.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions), Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali has been assigned to oversee the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry following the death of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub.
Salahuddin died on July 23 after undergoing surgery for brain haemorrhage.
