The store has countless ang pow designs for you to choose from, which can be customised to include names upon request.
3. xia design
From ‘fa cai’ mahjong tiles to hilarious statements such as ‘Tolong la. 34 years old still take’ and ‘Ah boy! Lai, aunty sponsor you’, xia design puts fun into the design of the ang pows in 2021.
The red packets come in eight different designs and they can be customised to include the recipients’ names if you purchase the full set. You can also customise certain words on the ang pows too.
Each of the envelope-style ang pows features a card hidden inside. Orders close this Sunday, 7 February.

4. Paper Mailbox
Knowing that Malaysians can’t go back to their hometown to celebrate Chinese New Year this year due to the Movement Control Order (MCO), Paper Mailbox has fused a gift card and an ang pow into one.
There are a total of seven gift card designs. You can even buy a ‘fu’ (prosperity) wax seal stamp to seal the envelope that comes with the gift card too.

5. loka made
loka made‘s watercolour designs are no stranger to Malaysians. Last year, they even released red, green, and purple packets for the three major local festivities.
This year, they’ve launched exclusive loka made postcards and red packets. You can get the latter for free if you purchase a minimum of RM30 worth of loka made products.
The greeting on the ang pow reads ‘wishing you a bullish momentum’ — a fitting idiom for the Year of the Ox.

6. PaKat
PaKat is a Miri-based store that curates products made by local artists. Not only are they selling ang pows made by local artists, but they are also giving away their custom-made ‘pink packets’ to their customers.
“To bring a little cheer and joy, we decided to make our own little red packets, tinged a softer blush to match our aesthetic!” the store wrote on its Instagram post.
PaKat shared with SAYS that there are at least three artists selling ang pows in eight different designs at the store.
7. FabCafe Kuala Lumpur
FabCafe is a global coffee chain and co-working space equipped with various embroidery and 3D printing machines.
Their outlet in Malaysia is located in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, and they have branches in France, Spain, Japan, Hong Kong, Mexico, and Thailand.
This year, they launched laser-cut and fully customisable ang pows. We sighted 18 designs on their Instagram. Each ang pow can be personalised to include the recipient’s name.

The ang pows and ‘jack-in-a-box’ jumping ox origami are designed and handcrafted by Fictionist Studio, available on ana tomy’s online store.
The ang pows come in four different colours, namely Red Lacquer, Rose Gold, Super Gold, and Gold Leaf.
“Each set comes with eight iridescent ang pows of various colours, making it the perfect gift for a loved one or simply a personal collectable,” as stated on its website.

This Chinese New Year, they have launched a range of new ang pow products, designed in a contemporary pop art style.
