1. Astaka Morocco, Putrajaya
The Astaka Morocco was built to symbolise the strong diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Morocco. Tucked away in a corner of the Putrajaya Botanical Gardens, it boasts magnificent Moroccan architecture that closely resembles intricate Marrakech pavillions.
Make a day trip to Putrajaya for a Moorish retreat to enjoy this exquisite craftsmanship. It is best visited during sunset if you want to catch the light reflecting on the luxurious tiles and illuminating the pavilion in a soft, romantic glow.
The entrance to the main courtyard and parking lot is free. To enter the gates, however, you will need to pay an admission fee of RM3, and photos are not allowed within the premises. Still, you may snap some quick photos outside, and spend the rest of your time strolling around the Botanic Gardens.

2. KL Forest Eco Park
Located close to the KL Tower, the KL Forest Eco Park is a natural haven in the heart of the city, and is one of Malaysia’s oldest permanent forest reserves.
You can follow a 200m hiking trail, or trek along the canopy walkways that wind around the trees and provide you with a wonderful view of the city skyline. You can also stop for a picture with the KL Tower head and the iconic hanging bridge.
Take a weekend hike around this alluring park to breathe in the fresh air and get some exercise. Admission is RM10 for Malaysians, and RM40 for non-Malaysians, so get off your couch and add a piece of nature to your Instagram feed!

3. Kwai Chai Hong
Project Kwai Chai Hong was launched in 2019, and has revived the neglected Chinatown alleys and transformed the heritage shop lots into one of the most Instagrammable spots in Kuala Lumpur.

4. Elmina Valley Central Park
Located in the new township of Elmina City in Shah Alam, this recreational park is home to some beautiful architecture. It’s an ideal photoshoot location if you want to add a pop of colour to your feed.
One of the most popular photo spots is the dreamy rainbow walkway, which is best visited during the day. Besides that, there is also the bright red Elmina Iconic Bridge that lights up when the sun sets.

5. Batu Caves
Add another rainbow to your feed when you visit the vibrant stairs at Batu Caves. Begin your trek up the 272 steps and reach a gorgeous limestone temple cave at the top. You may be greeted by the cheeky monkeys that scamper around these stairs, just don’t let them run off with your belongings!

6. Federal Territory Mosque
The Federal Territory Mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques in the city, and is open to both Muslims and non-Muslims alike. You may immerse yourself in the splendour of the building’s symmetrical design, with its gold and blue accents and reflective marble floors.
There is no cost required to enter the mosque, as long as you are dressed respectfully with a loose headscarf and leave your shoes outside the building. However, you will be provided with robes should you need them.

This escalator with intricate wooden fixtures is a popular photoshoot spot due to its symmetrical and aesthetically-pleasing design. NU Sentral is connected to the central transportation hub in KL, and is a bustling multi-level shopping complex that is also an Instagram hotspot.
As this is a busy train station, you’ll have to drop by early to avoid peak hours and have an empty escalator to yourself.

9. Saloma Link Bridge
Named after the late Salmah Ismail, a Malaysian-Singaporean film actress and singer (and P Ramlee’s wife), this 370m-long bridge connects Lorong Raja Muda Musa 3 to Jalan Saloma.
At night, the pedestrian bridge comes to life when it is illuminated by colourful LED lights. You can even see the Petronas Twin Towers and other major landmarks in the background, so get creative with your shots!

Also known as Lake Gardens, Perdana Botanical Gardens is a scenic place for a relaxing retreat away from the city. It’s home to a sprawling park with a lake, an orchid garden, walking trails, orchid and hibiscus displays, a butterfly garden, and a planetarium.
You can come here for a jog or picnic with your friends by the lakeside. Take some OOTDs under the yellow canopy and impeccable landscaping.

12. The LINC KL
The LINC KL is a colourful new hipster mall that combines retail and greenery. Located on Jalan Tun Razak, there are plenty of photo opportunities as well as art displays.
