KUANTAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has arrived at Istana Abdul Aziz here for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
His motorcade, escorted by vehicles from the State Secretary’s Office, reached the palace at 10.53am.
Before entering, Ismail Sabri lowered his car window and waved at waiting newsmen.
Earlier, a special aircraft carrying the Prime Minister from the Royal Malaysian Air Force base in Subang landed at the state capital about 10.30am.
Since there is only one entrance to the palace, members of the media and policemen had gathered there since 9am.
It is believed the Prime Minister’s audience with the King was to seek the latter’s consent over a list of candidates for Cabinet positions.
Talks are rife that the announcement on the new Cabinet line-up would be done later today.
