Covid-19: Over 30 per cent of children now partially vaccinated

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 30 per cent or 1,078,538 children aged between 5 and 11-years-old, have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Yesterday, 17,194 children were vaccinated nationwide.

Sarawak is the state with the highest vaccination rate for children at 59.1 per cent, followed by Melaka (42 per cent) and Penang (40 per cent).

However, vaccination rate in Kelantan and Terengganu are still below 10 per cent at 8.5 and 9.9 per cent respectively.

The vaccination rate in other states are between 17.5 and 37.3 per cent.

For adults, 64.4 per cent (15,157,782) from this group have received their booster dose.

A total 25,765,486 people or 78.9 per cent of the total population have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
