PUTRAJAYA: Adolescents who receive appointments for booster shots via MySejahtera have been told to ignore them.

Similarly, adults who already received their booster dose but had been given a new appointment date need not attend.

The Health Ministry’s MySejahtera unit said a technical issue with the system resulted in appointments being sent out automatically according to the different vaccines’ time interval.

“Because of this, the system issued appointment dates for booster shots to adolescents, or those aged 12 to 17, as well as to adults who already received theirs.

“It is the ministry’s policy that booster shots are only given to those 18 and above. And no second booster or fourth dose is to be administered to the public,” it said in a statement on Wednesday (March 23).

It advised those who had confirmed appointments for this “second booster” through a link sent via MySejahtera to cancel.

“They need not come to the vaccination centre and all PPV have been informed.

“They will decline to give booster shots to adolescents and will not fulfil appointments for ‘second boosters’ for adults.

“The MySejahtera technical team is rectifying the matter and apologises for any inconvenience caused,” it said.
