Passengers are in the clear! Long queues and waiting time will no longer be of concern with the implementation of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s new biometric facial recognition system called EZPaz and its self-bag drop facility, EZBagz.
The biometric system is currently available at the KL International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 for domestic flights by Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia respectively.
The system enables passengers to check in, validate documents, print bag tags at the EZPaz kiosk, drop their luggage at EZBagz counters, go through security checks and board their flight – using only their face.
Passengers are required to first register their biometric data at the EZPaz kiosk, or head to the V-desks for assisted biometric registration or totem for biometric self-registration to kickstart the document-free journey through the airport – from kerbside till takeoff. Passengers can also download the MYAirports or AirAsia FACES app to register their initial biometrics prior to arriving at the airport.
