Also present were Mara chairman Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, Pharmaniaga independent non-ED Dr Abdul Razak Ahmad and Macro Tech Ventures CEO Lennise Ng.

Azizah said not only would this strategic collaboration help entrepreneurs conduct a conducive business ecosystem, but also expand the supply chain of medicines and pharmaceutical equipment.

This is to encourage a more sustainable and competitive socio-economic environment among Bumiputra entrepreneurs.

Through Mara’s business financing scheme, 24 selected Pharmaniaga vendors will be funded subject to existing terms and conditions.

Moreover, Mara’s collaboration with Macro Tech will assist more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in their digitalisation journey through its Dropee platform.

Aizat said this partnership is formed at the right moment, while the Malaysian economy suffers from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He believed that it is an opportunity to expand the local supply chain and empower Bumiputra-owned SMEs to sustain and remain competitive.

Both parties will provide these entrepreneurs with training, advice and industry guidance according to their respective areas of expertise.

The partnership with Mara, which ties in with Macro Tech’s entrepreneurship development programme, is fitting in guiding entrepreneurs to grow their business strategies effectively.

The focus of the partnership will be on applying technology in improving operational efficiency, commercialisation and growing sales by using the market concept of business-to-business-to-consumer.

Those using this platform will understand and analyse price offerings from manufacturers and distributors, manage inventory in a more structured manner and receive advice and guidance from experts.

Macro Tech has created vast opportunities for local SMEs to grow digitally through their different Dropee platforms such as Dropee Finance, Dropee Credit, Dropee Direct, Dropee Digitalisation, Dropee API and OmniChannel.

The sessions will be conducted in Melaka and Kuala Lumpur (KL). The first session took place from March 23 to 25 and saw 100 businesses in attendance.
