KUALA LUMPUR: Parliament will convene before the Emergency proclamation ends on Aug 1.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said details pertaining to this will be finalised during the Cabinet meeting next Wednesday.
“The Federal government has always upheld the views of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in all matters relating to the governance of the country, including in relation to the parliamentary session.
“In this regard, the Prime Minister (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) as the Head of Parliament, has decided to convene a Parliament sitting as soon as possible before Aug 1. This matter will be finalised in the Cabinet meeting on July 7,” he said in a statement today.
