Khairy: Over 26 million vaccine doses received from govt procurement, foreign contributions

PETALING JAYA (Bernama): A total of 26.38 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been received by Malaysia so far via government procurement and foreign contributions, says Khairy Jamaluddin (pic).

The Science, Technology and Innovation Minister said that 61.7% of the Malaysian population have registered for Covid-19 inoculation as of Monday (July 26).

Khairy, who is also National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP) coordinating minister, said that almost all states are expected to have 40% of their adult population fully vaccinated by the end of August.

He added that Malaysia has received vaccine donations from three countries so far, namely Japan, the United States and China.

“The government has expressed its gratitude to the countries that donated Covid-19 vaccines to Malaysia,” he said this during a briefing session on the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP) at the special sitting of the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (July 28). – Bernama
