KUALA LUMPUR: Education institutions under the Education Ministry (MoE) in Pahang and Negri Sembilan will resume on Oct 4.
In Johor, it will resume on Oct 10.
In a statement today, the Education Ministry said this was in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s announcement on Sept 22 of the three states moving into the next phase of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) starting today (Sept 24).
According to the ministry, the operation of education institutions under their purview would follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the new phase, two weeks after the date of transition.
For Johor, which transitioned into Phase 2 today, education institutions under MoE will resume on Oct 10 under the Phase 2 SOP.
For Pahang which transitioned into Phase 3 today, education institutions will resume Oct 4 under Phase 2 SOP. It will adopt Phase 3 SOP on Oct 11.
The same goes for Negri Sembilan which transitioned into Phase 4 today. Education institutions will resume operations Oct 4 under Phase 3 SOP, with Phase 4 SOP coming into force Oct 18.
The Prime Minister announced previously that Negri Sembilan would transition into Phase 4 of the NRP, Pahang into Phase 3 and Johor into Phase 2 starting today.
Education institutions under the Ministry include schools, vocational colleges, matriculations and teacher education institutes.
