Tata Consultancy expands partnership with Celcom to create future-ready business support systems

KUALA LUMPUR: India-based Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is expanding its partnership with Celcom Axiata Bhd (Celcom) to create future-ready business support systems (BSS).

TCS is collaborating with Celcom’s large-scale transformation of BSS using TCS platforms, including TCS HOBS and TCS TwinX hosted on Microsoft Azure.

With the new core platforms transformation project, TCS will enable Celcom to enhance further its digital and platform positioning through advanced digital capabilities like artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) driven business simulations, an enterprise product catalogue, and partner ecosystem enablement.

Celcom chief operations officer (Technology) Afizulazha Abdullah said the telecommunication company continues its modernisation journey by transforming its business operations by incorporating new technology to deliver experiences to its customers.

“This includes enhancing Celcom’s data analytics abilities, reducing time to market, ensuring seamless customer experiences across all Celcom touchpoints.

“Celcom is proud to continue its collaboration with TCS as they have the right expertise in cutting-edge solutions, deep industry knowledge and good delivery capabilities,” he said in a statement today.

To address the rapid and dynamic market growth, Celcom will adopt and integrate TCS microservices-enabled modular digital BSS core based on Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) technologies, including artificial intelligence, business intelligence, machine learning and cloud technologies.

This also enables Celcom to access real-time data and customer insights, allowing improved simulated business scenarios for revenue, cost and operational optimisations.

TCS Malaysia Sdn Bhd country head Jeevan Rajoo said the company look forward to creating a new digital platform model that improves Celcom’s competitive edge by accelerating their time to market, improving customer experience, and better-enabling revenue streams.

TCS president for communications, media and information services Kamal Bhadada said the combinatorial capabilities of TCS HOBS and TCS TwinX would provide Celcom with real-time product and pricing strategy guidance, collaborative creativity and experimentation and single touch federation enable competitive differentiation.

TCS HOBS is a plug and play digital business platform for subscription, device and data management offered in a software as a service (SaaS) model.

TCS HOBS enables companies to leverage partner ecosystems and venture into B2B2X models to build on future-proof, microservices-based catalogue-driven architecture.

B2B2X is a new business model in which a telecom service provider is primed to deliver services to many end-users.

The TCS TwinX combines research on artificial intelligence (AI) and the actor model of computation to aid companies in simulating effective decision-making.

The digital twin-based simulator helps construct hypotheses, model entities and test business decision outcomes in a virtual A/B testing mode.

TCS TwinX equips business leaders to predict and simulate the future behaviour of entities for achieving holistic business goals.

As a result, companies can expect to see increased revenue, reduced revenue leakage, faster time to market and a reduction in cycle time, as well as enhanced customer experience.
