KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry (MoH) will wait for the full report from the police on the sale of fake Covid-19 vaccination certificates.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry would decide on whether to enhance the safety features of the MySejahtera application after studying the report.

“We will wait for the police to conduct a full investigations (on the case) first,” he told Berita Harian today.

The police, last Saturday, busted a doctor’s alleged attempts to sell fake Covid-19 vaccination certificates after seizing about 100 vaccination appointment cards. The doctor was also arrested at a private clinic in Marang, Terengganu.

The 51-year old man was arrested during a raid conducted by a team of officers from the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) at around 7pm.

The suspect is believed to be conducting online sales of fake vaccination certificates since last September.

Each certificate was reportedly priced between RM400 and RM600.
