Early voting for Johor polls tomorrow

JOHOR BARU: A total of 22,531 voters comprising police and Armed Forces personnel and their spouses will cast their early votes for the Johor polls tomorrow.

Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said out of that, 11,576 people are from the state police.

He said the casting of votes would involve 63 polling centres with a total of 83 voting channels that are being provided for the early voting process.

“The early voting will be conducted at all police and Armed Forces premises such the Johor police headquarters, all main halls of district police headquarters, General Operations Force (GOF) camps and army camps.

“My advice for those who are involved in early voting is to always be aware of the directives of the Health Ministry.

“Before you fulfil this responsibility (to vote), make sure you conduct a Covid-19 test to ensure you are of optimal health,” he told reporters at the Johor police headquarters yesterday (Sunday).

Kamarul Zaman said 382 police personnel from its rank and file and officers had applied to be postal voters for the Johor polls.

“Out of the 382 personnel who applied for posting voting, 276 of them were approved by the Election Commission, while the rest were not approved,” he said.
