SEREMBAN: Water supply to several districts here will be disrupted for up to 24 hours on Oct 18 due to maintenance works at two treatment plants.
Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan (SAINS), in a statement said supply will be disrupted from 8am on Oct 18 to allow its personnel to carry out repair works at the Sg Linggi and Gemas Baru water treatment plants.
This will affect supply to parts of Seremban, Port Dickson, Rembau, Tampin and Jempol.
Areas that will experience disruption in Seremban include Rantau and its surrounding villages, residential areas and light industrial parks, Kuala Sawah and Bandar Ekar.
In Rembau, it will include the Halal Park Pedas, Kg Pedas, Taman Pinggiran Pedas, Taman Pedas Indah and the Pedas industrial training institute, community college, vocational skills college, SK Kundur, SK Pedas, SM Pedas, and the surrounding areas.
In Port Dickson, areas that will experience disruption include Bandar Sunggala, Jalan Pantai, the army camps along Batu 4 and 5, Tampin Linggi, Kuala Lukut, Bandar Dataran Segar, Lukut, Bandar Springhill, Bukit Palong, Kebun Jimah, Jimah Lama, Bukit Pelandok and Chuah.
The Palong 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 settlements in Jempol would also experience a cut.
In Tampin, supply to Gemas and its surrounding areas including the army camps, Dataran Satria, Air Kuning, Parit Buluh, Felda Bukit Jalor, Kampung Melayu Bukit Masjid, New Village Gemas, Gemas Commercial Centre, Taman Sungai Gemas, Kampung Ladang, Kampung Bangkahulu, Taman Pasir Besar and Kampung Pasir Besar would be affected.
SAINS said the maintenance works were necessary to ensure the concessionaire could continue to supply quality treated water.
It would also deploy water tankers and place static tanks in areas where repair works will take more than 24 hours to complete.
